Method
No black box.
Every Floodlit number is built from parts you can see, and it tells you how sure it is. Here is exactly how it works.
Two parts: reach and presence
Your value comes from two things. Reach is what your audience is worth to a brand, priced from your engaged following using a cost per engagement calibrated to real UK rates. Presence is what your level is worth in appearances and ambassador work.
We add the two, then apply a modifier for your age, recent form and honours. Younger and in-form carries upside; that is priced in.
A range, never false precision
We always show a range, not a single figure, because nobody can promise an exact number. The midpoint is our best estimate; the spread around it is honest about the uncertainty.
A confidence reading on every number
Under each valuation is a confidence signal and, on the benchmark, a count of how many real deals sit behind it. Few data points means low confidence and a wider range. The more real deals, the tighter and more trustworthy the number.
It learns from real deals
The benchmark blends the model with the crowd. When there is little real data, it leans on the model. As athletes contribute real deals, it shifts toward what the market actually pays. Estimates are down-weighted against verified contributions, so the dataset gets more credible over time, not less.
A cohort with fewer than three data points shows its count but not a figure. You will never see a median built off two deals.
Where the starting numbers come from
To avoid an empty benchmark on day one, we seeded it with plausible, publicly-reported and estimated figures, clearly marked as estimates. They are down-weighted and fade in influence as real contributions arrive.
Calibrated, and honest about limits
The starting figures are tuned to published 2026 UK market benchmarks. These are modelled estimates for guidance, not a guaranteed offer or financial advice. Use them to walk into a conversation informed, not as a promise.
